vanrijngo rebutal in bold print:

Melissa Jenkins and Daniel Ehrlick pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of first-degree murder in connection with the beating death of Jenkins' 8-year-old son Robert Manwill in July.

Yes, I think it was very wise of  Melissa Jenkins and Daniel Ehrlick pleading not guilty to something if they did not do it,... and just guessing myself,... even after all the interigation they might have endured by the interrogating teams who keep them up and awake trying to get them to plea guilty to save their own lives from something they might not have done amazes me to no end. You can almost see this on both their faces if one knows the interigation techniques.

The two, both charged with first degree murder, stood silent during their entry of plea hearing Thursday in front of 4th District Judge Darla Williamson so not guilty pleas were entered for them.

I myself, while not knowing them, gives them a lot of credit for their own stamina for sticking to the idealogical thoughts of being innocense, even though they know most everyone believes them to be guilty.

Ehrlick is accused of beating the boy to death, and Jenkins is accused of covering up the crime and lying to police about what happened.

If this is their main evidence they have,... of these supposed beatings, supposedly over time, where the hell was he playmates,.. or let me rephrase that, where is all these young people who would now be talking of these beating Robert would have definitely mentioned to them. I'm talking about the one like that little girl who knew Robert and was sure that it was him she was swinging with, just a little while before he was reported missing. These kids were all friends of Robert's and who had played with him in this housing track they all lived at,... and all the kids had said absolutely nothing of these supposed beatings or suspicions of them.

Ehrlick and Jenkins, who appeared separately in front of Williamson Thursday, both waived their speedy trial rights so a jury trial on the case won't likely happen until next summer at the earliest.

What a damn shame what the public is now saying, while a few are saying why waist the tax payers money while many other agree with them. Some say,... just leave their jail door open for the others in there who hate child abusers to take care of them. To tell you the truth, there are probably enough already in the jails falsely accused themselves of many different scenarios to put a squelch on this action.

The next hearing in the case is set for Nov. 5, when a trial date likely will be set. Defense attorneys say they need to know whether or not Ada County prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against Ehrlick or Jenkins before they can schedule a trial.

Well, we all know in order to finish this witch hunt,... the authorities are going to have to ask for the death penalty for a crime such as they have been accused of.

Prosecutors have until the middle of October to make that decision.

I'm sure they will take every bit of the time they figure they need to try and break these two down to possibly plead guilty to save their own lives. How many times do you think one can take them saying to them, do you want to die? Don't you know you will be found guilty,... cop a plea and you could be out in 10 to 15.

Rob Chastain, Jenkins' attorney, told Williamson he did not yet know if he planned to file a motion to sever the cases since he had not yet received any discovery from prosecutors as of Thursday.

More that likely if they had anything other than the corner report,.. say something which would substantiated a crime being committed with real cover up evidence like they are implying they have, it would have already been submitted as evidence for them to look over since the two defendants only have a public defender instead of high powered attorneys. If I was ever to sell a painting of any value I'd pay for their attorneys myself.  Say if a high powered attorney other than court appointed attorney didn't already know how the court systems works, they would more than likely take this case on a contingency basis just to be there for the a civil law suit that will more than likely follow if and when they won this case.

Both Ehrlick and Jenkins are being held in the Ada County Jail and appeared in court Thursday shackled and dressed in jail uniforms.

Now how else would they appear,... in a new suit like Robert Blake?

Both answered Williamson's questions with simple "yes" and "no" answers, as family members and friends of both suspects and Robert Manwill watched from the courtroom.

Yes this must have real been revealing to all these ones wanting answers, what a waist of time and of tax payers money as they say, to keep all these people in the dark for this short little spectacle put on purposely for public response and opinions for doubt of their innocence.

Ehrlick initially said he did not understand his speedy trial rights but later said he did after talking to public defender Gus Cahill.

I'm sure by not pleading guilty and talking with Gus Cahill he understood and felt a lot better with a jury trial, even though it would require being lock up for more time, rather than going with just a Judges decision on this matter for what they call a speedy trial.

Family members left the courtroom without comment Thursday.

How do you comment on nothing, only a couple of words?

Jenkins and Ehrlick were indicted and charged with first-degree murder by an Ada County grand jury Aug. 18.

I would like to know, is it public record who had sat on this grand jury which has come to these conclusions about this case?

The grand jury found that 8-year-old Robert Manwill was beaten by Ehrlick for weeks in a pattern of "escalating physical violence" that finally climaxed in his death, according to court records.

I would hope that the grand jury was convinced by something other than just the supposed body evidence of an eight year old boy which was bounced around in the waters of the New York canal for approximately 10 days and what the corner had himself came up with as his own determinations.

Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg said the boy died from blunt force trauma "on or about" the July 24 — the night he was reported missing. That report triggered a community-wide search for Robert Manwill that ended about two weeks later when his body was found in the New York Canal near Kuna.

OK, in assuming that this time frame means Robert was killed on the day that he was reported missing and being seen on the evening before being reported missing by a playmate does narrow the time down to even less hours than was mentioned by Ada County Coroner Erwin Sonnenberg.

Erwin Sonnenberg I believe is also a city employee, who some thinking in line with myself,  might come to a same conclusion while saying there just might be a need for Robert's body to be exhumed for another non bias opinion.

Ehrlicks’s violence against the boy started as early as June, according to the grand jury indictment, which also says Jenkins "did actively and repeatedly hide (Robert) from government authorities" and kept "other persons from observing the ongoing harm" Ehrlick was doing to the boy.

Let others who were around Robert come forward and help stop all these unanswered questions about this assumed violence that was supposed to be happening to Robert, for there has to be more than the mother and boy friend knowing this was happening. My big question is how were they able to hide this from others around them. There would have to be more aware of this, say like ones involving themselves in helping hiding all this trauma and abuse he had to be going through,.... if in fact it did really happen.

The grand jury said Ehrlick repeatedly abused Robert and eventually killed the boy by the "intentional application of torture ... by inflicting extreme or prolonged pain with the intent to cause suffering, to execute vengeance, or to satisfy some sadistic inclination, by inflicting repeated acts of blunt force trauma to the abdomen and/or head of Robert Manwill."

Ehrlick, being this sadistic torturing monster that they say he is and as he repeatedly inflicted all this abuse, he must have in return been one smart and planning criminal, to think of all these ways he was going to use to help in covering his own tracks and of this terrible crime he is said to have committed.  He must have planned this out for days, just how he was going to go down to the end of his street and cut that lock off the gate with the path going up to the canals edge while throwing it away.  Yep!.. he more than likely said to himself, I'll just throw his body in the canal some where closer to Kuna so they think he went through all those gate in the canal that weren't raised to get all the body damage and cover up evidence of the head trauma,... and of him being tortured to death. He must have figured when they find poor little Roberts body in the fast moving water the body would be found in such bad shape and would put him totally in the clear.

The grand jury also found that Jenkins continued to leave Robert with Ehrlick despite the knowledge that he was "inflicting repeated acts of physical violence" on the boy, and that Jenkins lied to police about Robert's whereabouts after she knew he was dead.

This is like a story that could have came straight out of a Panochio or a Hansel a Gretel story book, only with a better ending,... or straight from hell.

Ada County prosecutors have not yet decided whether they will seek the death penalty against Jenkins and/or Ehrlick.

To save face, I'd personally say they would be better off coming up with something as to this,.... We believe this whole investigation has all been one big mistake and flop, as we all got off on the wrong foot steps thinking these two were responsible for Roberts death right from the beginning and never really concentrated on that gate which was left unlocked.  In our new discoveries we find it impossible for the two of them to have been responsible for the killing of Robert.  We are still perusing other avenues or individuals believed to be reponsible for Roberts death.

They have a little more than a month left to make that decision.

Ada County Prosecutor Greg Bower said last month much of the decision will depend on what kind of mitigating evidence defense attorneys provide to prosecutors as they swap discovery on the case.

Amazing how ones can find themselves deep in do-do when this kind of thing happens, especially when someone comes up missing who is close to ones with questionable backgrounds who happens to be the guardians.

The entry of plea hearings for Jenkins and Ehrlick were originally set Tuesday but were later rescheduled when 4th District Judge Deborah Bail, who was originally given the case, disqualified herself in late August.

Being a Judge I'm sure this Judge put herself in a self-protection kind of a mode for reasons that she may possibly have had, say forinstance a little insight into the case, which could possibly change the outcome one way or the other feeling she was not the right judge for this case.

Bad Karma could more than likely follow those who say they are already guilty before being proven guilty by a court of law. Also this Karma might follow ones that recommend that they hope they both rot in hell as their own voiced opinion on this case, when they have no clue or have been presented with any evidence against these two, other than what has already been said by the Boise Police.

O
nes who agree and personally participate in this witch hunt, while recommending something as to these suggestions to their supposed trashy friends, neighbors and family members still supporting Melissa saying - CLASS UP and call a disgusting spade a spade should be in this same catagory. Here below is more which has been recommended on the prejudgments of the mother and the boy friend for the supposed beatings of Robert Manwill, supposedly causing his death.

Just to hear these names again makes you sick to your stomach. nothing stirs up a community's thirst for vengeance like a case like this. the worst part is knowing that nothing will ever really satisfy that thirst....the death penalty is deserved here and will bring some closure, but the sickness we feel in our bones will not be alleviated by it.
----------------
Not guilty pleas are simply the latest slap in the face to the community and to Robert that thing 1 and thing 2 have perpetrated.
-----------------------
These have to be some of the lowest forms of 'human life' that maybe have ever dis-graced the Treasure Valley with their presence.
----------------------------------
And to the trashy friends, neighbors and family still supporting Melissa - CLASS UP and call a disgusting spade a spade.
-----------------------------------------
It still turns my stomach to think of this poor boy being beaten and abused by the people who are supposed to love and protect him. I think the same should be done to them. Let THEM beg for it to stop and cry in pain.
-----------------------------------------------
Electric chair. Slow and easy. Bit by bit. Little by little.
------------------------------------------------------
Let me guess, they'll plead not guilty. As for Mr Bower,he should do the right thing and seek the death penalty. Perhaps he needs to be reminded that his position is one that he has been elected to, and that the people who put him there can easily replace him. I don't understand why he needs 30 more days to make a decision--poop or get off the pot Mr. Bower!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to know when the H&W and the rest of the idiots involved in the child custody case get to go on trial for this murder as well! She was convicted of fracturing her child's skull not less than a year ago, and she was still given custody back!! Come on, there is absolutely NO excuse for that. The social workers, H&W, and anyone else involved in making the decision to let this woman anywhere near another child in the remainder of her life time are just as guilty as these two!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If they had not given custody/visitation back to her, Robert would still be alive. Plain and simple, and sickens me that they can get off saying that they have done an "internal investigation" that lasted all of ONE day and they are satisfied with their results.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can't we save the taxpayers millions of dollars and just send them to the electric chair?. I'll push the button for free!!! Won't have to pay me a dime...

Replying to Wendyjogh (09/03/2009 05:21:39 PM):
"Of course their plea was "not guilty," even if entered by the judge as they refused to give a verbal response, instead hoping for public sympathy. Now the trial will be nearly a year away, and we can at least take some comfort knowing that they will remain behind bars where other children are safe...":

I don't take any comfort from any of this. They are both scum of the earth. I will take comfort only when they are both nothing but a despicable memory, like Jeffery Dahmer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"2). To all of you calling for a torturous death, ie... wood chipper, slow electric chair, on and on and on, think about it: YOU sound worse than the Taliban and the others you constantly berate on these pages.
Seriously, put a sick dog down, don't torture it. Your blood lust only shows how sick YOU are."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are a lot of mothers here, and for us, its natural to want to skin these people alive! You ever see a mother bear when her cubs are threatened? Well, you don't want to. We r not sick, but rather enraged & protective. The ones who are sick are the psychopaths who don't feel guilt & dont have a conscience & the ones who defend these antisocial/evil types

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Personally, I do not thirst for vengeance. I thirst for justice. The justice little Robert was denied by the judicial system currently in place, that failed him on so many levels.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

This story makes me taste bile in the back of my throat. I wonder why god allows bad people to have children while wonderful people are barren. She does not deserve the title "mother".

vanrijngo says;

If all said about this case had any merit to it at all, not one thing or one piece of the evidence as of yet tells me that they are guilty of this crime. I myself will have to say, according to them both pleading innocent to these charges, and with all the interrogations that we all can imagine that had went on after Robert being reported as missing,... knowing now they could face death themselves, I personally believe they may very well be innocent of this tragic death of Robert  Manwill.

Some of you may remember them saying on the news cast that no one knew exactly the where bouts of this couple in the early, middle, and latter days of the search for Robert, when most everyone who was involved with the search was beginning to think that he was surely dead somewhere while even looking in dumpsters and at the dump where they had emptied the complexes dumpsters. After many allegations of possible beatings by Ehrlick and hidden by both him and the mother, I would guess most could get early premonitions of his death when listening to the news reports and these spokespeople reporting this now turned into a murder scene and investigation event, instead of a hopeful search outcome.

I know by going against the grain and saying these things, it pretty much looks to  most of you like I'm imagining these to be trumped up charges against this couple. I also know that it doesn't make me all that popular of a guy in this seemingly witch hunting community that I find we all are living in,...  that is if I happen to be right.  Well,... if for some insane reason they came after me,.... I have an out myself,... I could always plead insanity or stand on the fifth.

Anyway, getting back to a possible real reason for this misleading of public opinion. Law suits possibly against the city of Boise, say maybe as for a wrongful death of an eight year old boy due to a city employee's  own negligence? Do I really have to say anymore about times getting as bad as they are, and with city budgets and wages running way higher than normally? How could their budget possible handle the gigantic law suits such as this one would warrant, you know with the cost of living and inflation say for Robert's supposed life time he won't have,... and all for a mistake of one of their city's workers leaving the lock off that gate on a hot day in July?

Yes, most say you can sure see it it their faces how guilty they look and are,... Well, I say it is a look of sorrow from her as a mother and a little bit mad and upset by him of being worn completely out from lack of sleep and both their losses. Just imagine yourselves all the questioning that they've more than likely had already endured, and themselves being separated from each other to go through all the questioning and of what kind of questioning is still coming their way in the future. How many of you would be able to take all of this without breaking down and as they say,... copping a plea.
